Pico Fx uses Cutera’s Enlighten picosecond technology to safely and effectively reduce and remove signs of hyperpigmentation, including freckles, sun spots and melasma, in addition to targeting signs of ageing such as scarring, fine lines, skin texture and visible pores.
Scarring, textural issues, skin discolourations, including melasma, and ageing. Pico Fx is suitable for all skin types, including darker skin tones, looking to target these concerns swiftly with accompanying downtime.
Sensations range from a mild ‘electric rain’ feeling on the face to a more intense, hot ‘snapping’ feeling, however, this will dissipate within minutes.
No precare is required.
Take it easy on your skin for five days, or until any reactions have subsided. Use a gentle cleanser morning and night, along with a moisturiser or your prescribed post-treatment product. As always, you should avoid direct sunlight, and wear a high SPF sunscreen and hat whenever outdoors.
Most clients experience moderate to severe reddening of the skin, also known petechiae, immediately following Pico Genesis. These effects may be temporary or persist for up to 5 – 7 days. During this period, any treated sun spots or freckles will darker and flake off as they heal. On occasion, a mild to severe histamine response, including itching, can be experienced which will again resolve after the downtime period and can be eased with an over the counter antihistamine tablet such as Polaramine.
To improve specific concerns, we recommend three appointments at six-week intervals, followed by a review. Regular maintenance is recommended as pigment can return, especially in the case of melasma.
