Plasma Pen

What is it?

Plasma Pen is a skin tightening treatment capable of targeting specific areas with pinpoint accuracy to address the signs of ageing and achieve a smoother, tighter complexion.

Who is it for?

Anyone who’s not big on Botox, fillers or surgery but still wants an effective treatment against crow’s feet, fine lines and sagging skin.

Contraindications

Metals, pins or plates in the treatment area
Pregnancy
Some medications (including oral isotretinoin, warfarin, antibiotics, blood-thinners and long-term aspirin use)
Active cold sores in the treatment area
Low pain tolerance
Inability to take downtime

How it works

Plasma Pen emits low frequency electricity causing the epidermis to instantly contract, while also transmitting heat to the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating new collagen and elastin growth.

How it feels

You are likely to feel some heat and tenderness; however, the skin is numbed prior to treatment, keeping these sensations to a minimum.

Precare

If you are prone to cold sores, we recommend using an over-the-counter prophylactic to reduce the risk of pre-treatment breakout.

Aftercare

We’ll give you a post-treatment product to use twice daily for seven days. You will need to avoid cleansing the area and ensure it is kept dry until post-treatment scabbing has resolved. Sunscreen must be applied frequently throughout the day.

Downtime

Up to two weeks of downtime should be expected, with effects specific to the treatment area. Swelling is likely—especially around the eyes—for one to three days. During this time, small scabs will form on the treated skin. This scabbing will subside in approximately seven days. It is imperative that you do not encourage these scabs to come off prematurely. Once scabbing has subsided naturally, residual demarcations can persist for up to three months. After scabbing has subsided, makeup can be used to camouflage these residual demarcations until healed. This healing process is vital in producing the final outcome, so please do not be concerned at its longevity.

Frequency

We recommend one to two treatments, followed by a review. A minimum of six months is required between each treatment.
